  • Obtain a driver medical report confirming fitness to ride a motorcycle
  • Prepare an identity document, biometric photograph and the required registration documents

A1 practical training and test preparation

Training covers motorcycle familiarisation, safe starts, low-speed balance, slalom, figure of eight, U-turns, obstacle avoidance, controlled acceleration and emergency braking. Course skills are taught alongside mirror use, signals, blind-spot checks and traffic observation.

Whether the test vehicle is manual or automatic can affect the transmission entitlement recorded on your licence. If you intend to ride a manual motorcycle later, decide on your vehicle preference before registering.
