Who is eligible?
This provision applies to drivers who have held a valid category B driving licence for at least two years and meet the medical requirements for riding two-wheeled vehicles. Their licence must not have been temporarily or permanently withdrawn during the five years before the application date.
This entitlement does not cover motorcycles used for commercial activities. It is also not a substitute for an A1 driving licence valid outside Türkiye.
The A1 limit is more than just 125 cc
The two-wheeled motorcycle must not exceed 125 cm³ engine capacity, 11 kW power or a power-to-weight ratio of 0.1 kW/kg. These three technical conditions are assessed together. Check the registration and technical eligibility details before choosing a vehicle.
Training and practical test
After registering with an authorised driving school, you complete the practical training required by the programme. Training covers low-speed balance, cones, figure of eight, U-turns, obstacle avoidance, emergency braking and safe behaviour in traffic.
After passing the practical test, the applicant's information is entered into the driving licence record through the system. As the process and required documents may change, the current conditions are confirmed during registration.

Frequently asked questions
Can I ride a 125 cc motorcycle immediately with a B licence?
No. In addition to two years of experience and the other eligibility conditions, you must complete the specified training and pass the practical test.
Does this procedure give me an A1 licence?
No separate A1 card is issued. Once the required procedures are completed, your B licence record is given the entitlement to ride A1 motorcycles within Türkiye.
Can I use a motorcycle commercially?
No. This entitlement granted through category B does not cover motorcycles used for commercial activities.
